My most recent book, printed in 2010, is A Fair Recollection. The 350-page book features 35 fairs that have been held in Erie County since 1822. Over 200 photos fill the book with the days of yesteryear demonstrating the visual importance of each era. The areas included are: Albion, Corry, Edinboro, Erie, Millcreek, North East, Union City, Waterford, and Wattsburg. Erie County residents are featured as participants in state organizations such as the PA Farm Show and the PSACF. The book also features a 68-page appendix that has thousands of names of people who have participated as directors, members, stockholders, and prize winners. This is a great resource for genealogical research. Though no book is all inclusive, this book is the only collection of local information for the agricultural fair enthusiast. There is the story of Bill the Barber who believed he was a life-long constable and would chase teens down the street with a shotgun.
